I’ve been a bodyworker (or somato- therapist) for over a decade. During which time I’ve been in a constant state of learning and educating myself on the different systems of the body and how I can help bring them back into balance.
I have always been interested in how the body works and the connection it has to the mind. At age 7 I knew I wanted to be a Psychologist. At 13 took my first Reiki class, then becoming a Reiki Master at 17. I have since attained an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling, as well as having completed Massage Therapy School and eventually teaching massage therapy for Baker College. It was during this time that I took every continuing education class I could get to, deepening my understanding and increasing my palpation skills, so that I can feel even the subtlest vibrations within the body.
My husband and I also completed the Journey Practitioner Program, where I learned how to help people access a deeper connection to their own mind/body connection and release stuck traumas and change old beliefs. These unique skills, I feel, has made my counseling an even richer and connected experience.
One thing I enjoy most about my practice is the versatility it offers me. From working super light to super deep, having meaningful conversation to just resting in the silence, every day is something different. Each body has it’s own story, and if you listen quietly, it will talk to you!
My highest joy is helping others learn about them selves and empower them to go with in and find the answers they seek. I love helping others and am currently rewarded by the universe by a thriving personal practice in charming Marshall, MI.
